Almiral Gel Dosage/Direction for Use

How to use Almiral: Always use this medicine exactly as described in this monograph or as the doctor or pharmacist has told the patient. Check with the doctor or pharmacist if the patient is not sure.
For adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: Apply Almiral gel 3 to 4 times a day on the painful area.
How to apply Almiral gel: Before first use, pierce the sealing membrane of the tube with spiked top of cap.
Gently squeeze out a small amount of gel from the tube and apply to the painful or swollen area, slowly rubbing into the skin. The amount needed will vary depending upon the size of the painful or swollen area; an amount ranging in size from a cherry to a walnut will usually be sufficient.
The patient may notice a slight cooling effect when the patient rubs the gel in.
Wash the hands after rubbing in Almiral gel, unless of course they are the site being treated.
How long to use Almiral gel: Do not use Almiral gel for more than: 2 weeks for muscle and joints injuries (e.g. sprains, strains, bruises) or tendonitis.
3 weeks for arthritis pain.
Use no more than is required for shortest period of time needed.
Longer treatment may be recommended by a doctor.
If the pain and swelling do not improve within 7 days, or if they get worse, tell the doctor.
If the patient uses more Almiral than he/she should: In case the patient or a child accidentally swallows Almiral gel, or in case the patient has accidentally used much more than recommended, contact a doctor immediately.
If the patient forgets to use Almiral: If the patient misses the application of Almiral gel at the correct time, apply it when he/she remembers and then carry on as normal. Do not apply a double quantity to make up for the forgotten application.
